5 SixSeeds families touch down in Tijuana

The third annual SixSeeds Mexico Trip began today with reunions, hard work, swimming... and forgotten passports.

The Mexcio Service Trip has become something of a touchstone for SixSeeds.  The concept of SixSeeds was in many ways born around the first trip three years ago.  This year, the growing maturity of the trip experience reflects the growth of the SixSeeds concept into a full fledged movement.

We've only been here a little over a day, so we'll report in greater detail (including photos) in the days and weeks to come.  But it has been wonderful to see our dear friends in World Vision, the international development agency that is our partner here.  We've witnessed some amazing progress by the residents of the squatter community we've also come to call friends.

We made it back!  And for a full post trip reflection on this year's project, click here.

There are five families (coming from Boston, the SF Bay Area, Tampa Bay, and San Diego), and a total of 28 individuals on this trip.  The kids have dived in to the work and the pool.  We're off to great start.

Well, except for that a certain Executive Director forgot that his family's passports were left in the security box of his bank - a realization made the day before the trip and exactly one hour after the  bank closed for the day.  It all got worked out, but it's yet another reminder that as much as we feel like we're advancing something important, we're no experts.
